The Opium House

Part of the detail work on the Opium House at Mad Ludwig's Linderhof Castle. Weird stuff!

Lovely

Still working on people portraits. My favorites are probably the ones I catch off guard instead of posing. This was caught as the girl was walking through the garden.

Wondering

I don't know these people. Usually when I take a picture like this, I make sure it's someone I know. But I wonder about these people now. Who are they? What brings them here? Are they tourists or local? What are they talking about? Are they looking at the scene and talking about the beauty of it, or are they lost in their own world, in their own problems and dreams and lives, not really seeing what's there?

A Deviation

Okay, I'm totally going against what this blog was about, which is to find beauty where I live, and I'm cheating by throwing in a photo of my trip to Germany. It probably won't be the last. But who else to share the great ones with if not with you? If not here?

Arched

Again, my penchant for patterns.  It's all one building. I wondered why they painted just part of it yellow?

I can't even begin to count the hours I've spent hunched over bushes and flowers trying to catch this kind of shot. Then walking by a church, there was this patch of flowers full of bees. Turns out what you need is more than one bee and a lot of time. You need a lot of bees, and just a little time.

Keeping Things Bottled Up

These bottle were lined up on the windowsill of a store. I am definitely drawn as a photographer to patters and repetition. And the color is gorgeous too!

Blocks

I love finding patterns. The fun part of these windows is the way the frames don't make the traditional squares, and the opague quality of the glass.
